Hi! I'm Jayden. Some call me Jay. I'm a sound designer and audio engineer from Spokane, WA. I have an Associate Degree in Audio Engineering from Spokane Falls Community College and a Bachelor of Arts with emphases in Creative Business Management and Audio Production & Sound Design for Interactive Media from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
I'm an in-house Sound Designer at Gearbox Software, currently working on Borderlands 4. I started my career at Gearbox in 2021 as a contractor working on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, where I provided sound design and VO recording, editing, and implementation support in a contract capacity. After a mere 6 months, I packed my bags and moved to Frisco, Texas, where I joined the audio team full-time as an in-house VO Designer. From here I worked with actors, writers, and designers to deliver quality voice-over for Wonderlands and it's post-launch content. Shortly after, I found myself in my dream position on the sound design team, cranking away at content and implementation for the next main installment in the Borderlands franchise, Borderlands 4.
Beyond interactive, I also have experience in linear media, having edited over 35+ audiobooks and spoken word lectures for Penguin Random House Audio.
My areas of expertise include sound design, dialogue recording and editing, foley and field recording, synthesis, and music production. I have experience working within a multitude of DAWs, Unreal Engine 4 and 5, Wwise, and Perforce.
I currently reside in beautiful Liberty Lake, Washington. In my free time you can find me spending time with my friends and family, exploring the Northwest, picking up a new skill, or kicking my feet up and playing one of the countless games in my backlog.

IMPLEMENTATION

Designing the sound is only half the battle. Well-functioning audio in your game is imperative to leaving a lasting impression. With tools like FMOD and Wwise, or built-in game audio engines, I can bring your game's world to life.

FIELD RECORDING

Good sounds aren't made from nothing. With an arsenal of microphones and recorders, I can gather high-quality source material to lay the groundwork for complex sound design for your project.
